Can I print transcripts?
Yes. We have taken pride in providing you with professional looking Transcripts, Report Cards, and many other useful reports.

Can I Weight Grades?
You can set the relative "weight" or importance of each assignment, category or term without changing its possible points. An example of this is when you have one student who is a special needs student and one who is not. You may elect to apply a lower weight on a score earned by the special needs student than for other students who take the same test, or visa versa. You may want to place a lower weight on "homework" assignments than on assignments in the category labeled "test". You can also weight one term grade or multiple term grades without regard to the categories or the assignments.

You can enter any number or percent for a weight, as long as the numbers are consistently relative to each other. That is, you probably would not want to weight one test as 0.40 and another as 0.25. The weights do not have to equal 100% but are encouraged to do so. HomeSchool Minder will correctly compute the final grade average regardless of the sum of the weights.

Can I Create my own Grading Scales?
Yes. You choose how to score an assignment. You choose whether it is a letter or symbol score such as A, B, E or a numeric score of 100, 95, etc. The grade scales that you create determine how HomeSchool Minder will compute the grade for the score. HomeSchool Minder comes with three pre-defined grade scales. Each grade scale contains a different set of grades along with a low limit for each grade. For example, in the Standard A, B, C, D, F grade scale, the grade A contains a low limit of 90. When you enter a score of 90 or above (for an assignment that has this grade scale defined), the grade earned is an A. If a score of 89 was entered, the grade earned is a B (because in the grade scale, B has a low limit of 80). You decide the letter, symbol, and numeric low limit.

Can I Create my Own GPA Scale?
Yes. You can use the existing GPA scales or create your own. GPA is an acronym for Grade Point Average, which is the number of points a grade earns. For example, a student scores 100 on a test and the system computes the grade of "A" which commonly earns "4.0" grade points. A "B+" may earn a "3.5." An "F" may earn "0." The program comes with pre-defined GPA values for each of the grades listed in the pre-defined grade scales.

What is Custom Information?
In the Student Records module, Custom Information fields are available to assist you in the homeschool record keeping process. You can enter any additional information you want to include in the student’s homeschool record. For example, you may want to list a student’s allergies or the doctor’s name and phone number for easy reference. If you teach other students than your own in a co-op situation, having this information in the student’s record can be quite helpful.
