Students

The Student settings page lets you quickly and easily add new students so that you can begin tracking their studies.

Adding Students

To add a student, click on the Add button in the Years header. A data entry form will appear. Type in the name of the year you want to add (for example, 2013-2014), and click Save.

Once you've added a student, you'll notice a new option in the student drop-down on the top bar.

This drop-down lets you switch among the students that you have added. HomeSchool Minder will keep track of one or more year's courses, assignments, and events. For instance, by selecting different students from the student drop-down in the Calendar module, you will be able easily to see the activities for each student.

Detailed Student Records

The basic information that you enter in the Student settings page helps HomeSchool Minder to identify each student and track their data.

HomeSchool Minder allows you to store more information about each one of your students than just their names, of course! The Student settings page is simply a convenience to let you get started as quickly as possible. If you wish to enter more detailed student information, such as grade level and graduation date, contact information, as well as standardized tests, readings and community service, you can do so in the Student Records module. Note that in that module you can even enter custom information, such as medical contacts, allergy or special needs information, etc.

Editing Students

If you wish to change the name of a student, simply click on the row for that student. The data entry form will appear. Change any items that you would like to correct and click Save.

You can also change the name of the currently selected student, in addition to more detailed information for that student, by going to the Student Records module.
